Online Abacus Classes for Kids
Live classes with a trainer who knows your child. Small batches, daily correction, and a certificate at every level.
Inside a Live Class
Your child, a trainer, and a small group, live
Every class is live on video. The trainer works with the batch, watches how each child moves the beads and corrects as they go. The group stays small enough that no child gets lost in the crowd.
It's the same course, the same 11 levels and the same standard we follow at our centre in Indore, just taught from wherever your child sits.

What Children Learn
From the physical abacus to mental calculation
Children start on a real Soroban and learn the finger movements that keep calculation accurate and rhythmic. With regular practice, they begin to picture the abacus in their mind and solve sums without it.
That journey runs across 11 levels, from Level 0 to Level 10, at about 3 months a level.
Want to know more about the method? Read Udaan's 5-Method Abacus Framework.
Every level includes
- Hands-on abacus practice with a live trainer
- Finger-movement and visualisation drills
- Mental calculation for speed and accuracy
- Focus and memory training in class
- Regular progress tracking and periodic exams
- An exam and certificate at the end of the level

What abacus can and can't do
Abacus builds calculation speed, concentration and confidence when a child attends regularly and practises every day. It isn't a quick fix, and it isn't a guaranteed way to raise school marks. Progress varies from child to child.
Online classes work best with a steady routine and a little parent support. The free demo is the easiest way to judge for yourself.
Questions
Online abacus classes: your questions answered
What are online abacus classes at Udaan?
They're live classes on video, led by a certified trainer, for children aged 5 to 14. They run Monday to Friday in small batches, and they're never recorded.
What age can my child start?
Any age from 5 to 14. We match the learning to your child's age and ability, so a beginner and an older child don't start in the same place.
How many levels are there, and how long does each take?
There are 11 levels, from Level 0 to Level 10, and each takes about 3 months. It's the same course and structure we teach at our centre in Indore.
How much do online abacus classes cost?
For students in India, it's a one-time onboarding fee of ₹1,100 and then ₹1,500 a month. For international students there's no registration fee, and the fee is ₹4,000 a month. All fees are in Indian rupees. Refund terms are on our Refund Policy page.
Why are international fees higher?
Because we arrange things around you. We match class timings to your time zone and assign expert bilingual trainers based on what's convenient for your family.
Do we have to buy an abacus or books separately?
No. Once your child is onboarded, we provide a premium 17-rod Soroban across India, and there's no extra fee for study material at any level. Each level's book is delivered to your door. If you're outside India, message us and we'll confirm how the kit reaches you.
What do we need at home?
A laptop, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection, a quiet corner and a notebook. We provide the Soroban. For younger children, it helps to have a parent nearby in the first few weeks.
What happens at the end of each level?
Your child takes an exam and receives a certificate for that level. Children can also earn medals based on their performance.
What is Udaan Studio?
It's our flagship learning app, and it's still being built. The plan is online speed drills at home, an unlimited question bank, scheduled tests and exams, and real-time progress tracking for parents. Students who join now get early access when it launches.
Is online abacus as effective as classroom learning?
What matters most is a live trainer who corrects your child's work, plus regular practice at home. Online works well for children who attend regularly and practise daily with a little parent support. Every child is different, so the free demo is the best way to see how yours responds.
Does my child need to be good at maths?
No. Abacus is for every child, and no special maths skill is needed. Children improve through guided practice.
Will abacus help my child in school?
It builds calculation speed, concentration and confidence, which can support maths in school. It isn't a guaranteed way to raise marks, and results depend on regular attendance and daily practice.
